Welcome to the Working Group “Collections of the Austro-Hungarian Navy”
The Working Group "Collections of the Austro-Hungarian Navy" focuses on the collection policies and practices of the Austro-Hungarian Navy, as well as the study of collection holdings acquired through voyages and expeditions.
Directories and Repositories The Working Group "Collections of the Austro-Hungarian Navy" prepares directories and repositories on the history of expeditions and the collecting activities of Habsburg naval personnel. Journeys and Expeditions Biographies Expedition Vessels Collections	Mission & Vision The Working Group "Collections of the Austro-Hungarian Navy" serves as a platform for interdisciplinary academic exchange and cooperation among scholars studying the collection holdings acquired through the expeditions of the Austro-Hungarian Navy to Europe. Who we are In December 2024, the Weltmuseum Wien hosted the workshop ‘Provenance research with a focus on collections of the Imperial Navy of Austria-Hungary’, during which the idea of establishing a permanent working group was proposed.
