Mission & History

The Maritime Museum Piran collects, researches and presents the maritime heritage and maritime industry connected with the coast and the entire Slovenian territory. To this end, it has an important collection of maritime archaeology, an ethnological fishing collection and a historical, ethnological and art-historical collection of maritime affairs from the Middle Ages to the end of the Second World War.

Location

The Maritime Museum Piran is located in the Gabrielli Palace, which was built in the mid-19th century right next to the harbour of Piran.

The three-storey exhibition rooms are accessible to all visitors via lifts and ramps.
