Mission & History

The Aldebaran Maritime Association is a private, non-profit organisation founded in 1951 to promote and support maritime culture, naval studies and documentation and all related activities.

The association has a large collection, consisting of - an archive of technical and historical documents; - a specialised library with over 5500 volumes and journals in various languages; - an extensive collection of technical naval drawings; - an extensive naval and shipbuilding photo archive; - an interesting archive of films on the activities of the Trieste and Monfalcone shipyards; - an extensive collection of artistic drawings; - a collection of several hundred models made by members
